This is an email that was sent by Kris Yeomans, International Coordinator Short-Term Ministries for General Baptist.
Hi Everyone,
As some of you may have heard, a devastating Typhoon has hit The Philippines, and has impacted many of our students at General Baptist Bible College. At least 50 General Baptist Churches have been destroyed (not counting the many other churches that have been affected) and one death from our churches has been confirmed so far. Many homes have been washed away in the floods, entire farms have been devastated, and thousands of people are homeless and are in great need.
As a short-term mission trip leader for the General Baptist denomination, I am contacting you and asking for you to contact people you know, as well as your own churches and families, and asking for a special, sacrificial financial gift to support our relief efforts for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines. We are looking for churches to take up special, sacrificial offerings this upcoming Sunday and for individuals to send in support for relief efforts.
If you or someone you know can give to the relief efforts, you can donate securely online at www.generalbaptist.com or www.gbimissions.org. You can also mail checks (payable to GB Ministries with "Philippines Relief" on the memo line) to:
General Baptist Ministries
Philippines Typhoon Relief
100 Stinson Drive
Poplar Bluff, MO 63901
Thank you very much, and have a Merry Christmas!
We will be taking up an offering THIS SUNDAY (December 9, 2012). I ask you to prayerfully consider what you are about to contribute to this specific need.
Jesus said, “It is
more blessed to give than to receive.”
Grace & Peace,
Marc
